Beginning April 4, 2009, a First Saturday Flea Market will be held the first Saturday of each month from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. on the Canehill College grounds. All flea market and yard sale type vendors are welcome to set up and make some extra dollars. Space for the flea market is only $10.00 or $50.00 for the entire season (April through November) if paid in advance. Spaces are 10’ x 12’ outdoors with approximately 200 spaces available. There are to be no animals offered for sale. BBQ chicken and pork lunches will be available. Additional information call 479-824-3924. Canehill is located 20 miles west of Fayetteville on Highway 62 West between Prairie Grove and Lincoln, 3 miles south of Highway 62 on Highway 45 South. The First Saturday Bean Supper will also continue to be held on the First Saturday of the month from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with free entertainment by the Flint Hill Ramblers Band. The menu is ham and pinto beans, fried ‘taters, cornbread, dessert and drink, all you can eat for $6.00. Anyone who has ever enjoyed the Andy Griffith Show will enjoy attending this event which is a modern day “Mayberry.” Old friends are re-united and new friends are made each month. You’ll meet the friendliest folk in all of Arkansas! Good food, good friends, good fun!
